Kris Hopkins, CEO & Founder

As CEO of Newfound, Kris Hopkins is responsible for the overall vision, leadership and direction of the company. An experienced technical leader, Kris is the driving force behind Newfound’s technology and software architecture. Prior to co-founding Newfound, Kris helped lead business development at Lucent Technologies where he played a key role in new service provider initiatives and programs to create value-added services and software involving Lucent's infrastructure. Prior to his business development role at Lucent, Kris was a global marketing manager for Lucent's Wireless Broadband Solutions Group where he participated in defining and developing channel opportunities for Lucent’s wireless broadband products. Kris received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Cornell University and The Dorman Family Award for Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise Excellence.

James Loeber, VP of Business Development & Sales

James has drawn on extensive business development experience to assist Newfound in sourcing and managing business opportunities including sales, strategic partnerships, licensing and professional services engagements. James has been instrumental in generating market awareness of Newfound's core software platform through the successful launch of a beta software evaluation program involving several industry leaders. Prior to joining Newfound, James was the Director of Business Development at Create!print International where he was responsible for developing innovative partnership programs resulting in the origination of over 40 revenue generating partnerships and OEM arrangements. Before Create!print, James was a Manager of Business Development Principle Consultant with SassPro where he executed consulting engagements in the financial services, healthcare and insurance industries. Prior to SassPro, James was a Partner with Objectif Lune USA where he built sales and market channels for US product launch. James has additional sales experience with Data Management Services and Automated Data Processing. Additionally, James has held sales and consulting and product development positions within Document Management, SFA/CRM and HR Services industries. James received a B.A. in History from St. Lawrence University.

Joel Waterman, VP of Research & Development

As the founding employee and chief R&D architect, Joel Waterman has driven Newfound’s core product development, producing three distinct product lines; the MediaMixer, IP Call Recorder and VXML Dialer. While maintaining responsibility for existing products, Joel continues to innovate leading edge technologies used in a number of large-scale implementation.

Prior to joining Newfound, Joel was a Software Engineer in the tools and carrier packet solutions groups at Nortel Networks. Joel received a B.S. in Computer Science from Worchester Polytechnic Institute.

Darren Hopkins, VP of Professional Services

Co- founder Darren Hopkins leads all customer deployment and custom development projects. Darren's team is responsible for creating and managing all custom application development & testing, design documents, demonstrations, as well as customer support. His seasoned experienced in call flow, user interface and dialogue design are critical to the success of of customer applications. Darren is fluent in a variety of programming environments toward the development of SIP, VoiceXML, CCXML and web applications. Darren also has a deep knowledge of Nuance, Voxeo and Intervoice speech products and platforms.

Prior to Newfound, Darren was a design engineer at Nortel Networks. Darren received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
